Erin "Wren" Duncan is the creative talent behind wrenbirdarts. Best known for her whimsical and quirky, original embroidered handkerchiefs. She is self-taught in all forms of her artwork. Wren began hand embroidering in 2012 and has since sold over 10,000 hankies.
Wren grew up in the Midwest, and after earning a Master's degree in Social Work and working as a grant writer, moved to Chicago and began selling real estate. After falling in love with everything hand embroidery, Wren scrapped all previous work, and started a business selling her original designs through Etsy and local boutiques. Her nickname (wren bird) became the perfect name for her business, thus wrenbirdarts was hatched.
"My hand embroidered hankies are the perfect gift when you want something that is completely personal. I love embroidering inside jokes, nicknames, animals and once even a slice of pizza. I love to receive something that was made just for me".
Wren's work has appeared in SeattleMet Magazine, Colorado Homes & Lifestyle, Parade Magazine, Buzzfeed, and Glamour Magazine, and the Best Scottish Weddings.
She currently lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, and enjoys crafting, cooking, writing, and drinking craft beer.
