I have been a bench jeweler for over 10 years. My mother was a bench jeweler and my grandfather was a diamond salesman. It seemed only natural that I too would find a love of jewelry. I grew up working in the family jewelry store but as I got older I wanted to experience a larger corporate jewelry environment. I spent many years there, but missed the personal relationships that a "mom and pop" store acquires.
Making and selling jewelry for myself is so much more rewarding. I get to see the bride that will wear my necklace or hear about how my ring was the perfect gift for a family member. I know that when it comes to jewelry people have a lot of choices. This is why I make sure to give special attention to every detail. Each piece has a sapphire that I hand set inside the ring or on the clasp of my pendants to make them just a little more special. Also I package each piece in a branded leatherette box.
The difference between a family business and a corporate business is that the family knows it is their face and reputation that stands behind every piece of jewelry. It is what makes us family jewelers work twice as hard to ensure every piece is perfect and every customer is happy.
