My love of making furniture is only second to my love of designing furniture.
I have so many furniture ideas, you wouldn't believe me if I told you.
If I had an unlimited supply to the wood of my choice and tons more free time, I would be able to make at least half of my furniture designs.
This particular dresser is the first time I've used African Padauk. (FYI I didn't stain the wood red, thats the original color)
I fell in love with this wood so much, that I plan to use it a lot more in the future. Who wouldn't love a wood that turns burgundy after a light coat of oil and lacquer?
The reason this dresser got made, out of so many other ideas I have for furniture, is because I really wanted to try box joints with a solid wood in the horizontal position.
I know that they always say that "there's nothing new under the sun" but I've yet to see anyone else use box joints with the edges of the wood. Everyone has always uses the ends on the wood for box joints.
I not having fun if I'm not trying something new :-)
Dresser is
47" wide
37" high
21- 1/4" deep
I live in Los Angeles, and would be willing to drive up to 4 hours away to deliver dresser for small fee.
If you live further than that, we can make arrangements to have it shipped once I know where it needs to go.
Thanks for checking out my work. I am supper proud of it.
